Testing WordPress for Android on the road.

Just installed WordPress for Android while sitting in Pronto cafe in Shinjuku. It gives you of course only a subset of what you can do on your PC. But its good for a quick check on posts and comments. Writing quick posts like this is possible as well. You can add pics, select the category and add tags.

Japan trains

Japan is imho the country with the most advanced public transportation system based on trains, subways and bus. I live here now for more than 3 years, and I did never have the need to buy a car. Going to the customer – by train and taxi. Visiting Hiroshima, Nagoya or Osaka for sightseeing – the fastest way (beside taking the plane) is taking the Shinkansen. But it can be confusing. Some train stations here in Tokyo have 14 or

Japanese IME for HTC Desire

You want to write in Japanese on your HTC Desire, but you do not want to flash to original Softbank X06HT ROM? There are several solutions on the market for Japanese keyboards, but I prefer the original HTC one from the Softbank ROM. So I got my hands on a Softbank ROM with the update to Android 2.2 and extracted everything needed for the keyboard. Only impressive thing I found is the Toshiba Media Player. It provides access to music, videos, photos, podcasts on your SD-card and as well access to your media home server (if you know how to set it up. Graphic mod for the Notion Ink keyboard

The Android 2.2 keyboard sucks on a high resolution screen as you can find on the newer Android tablets. On my HTC Desire I always kept the HTC IME keyboard, as IMHO it is much better than the Android keyboard. Even the new Gingerbread keyboard is not good for me. Unfortunately the HTC IME keyboard does not work on my Xvision, so I had to search for an alternative. I found the Notion Ink keyboard ported from gojimi on XDA-Developers.

Camera Pro – Quite good, but doesn’t give me 5MPx on my HTC Desire. There are only 3 image sizes to select, but no hint which size means how many pixels. Swiss Codemonkeys can do better, as they show with their other applications. http://bit.ly/bQGzuG #android @TheAppBrain
